Master Electrician

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is looking for a highly skilled individual to perform repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical facilities throughout Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority buildings and facilities. Must possess the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot heating, ventilating and air conditioning electrical systems.

Our ideal candidate will have three or more years of related experience in the electrical field. Must also possess an active State of New Hampshire Electrical License.

This is a full-time, 40-hour position. A Valid Driver’s License is required.

HVAC Technician

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is seeking to hire a Senior Building Mechanical Technicial/Gas Fitter/HVAC Technician. Under limited supervision, this position performs highly skilled work related to corrective and preventive maintenance, repairs, and restorations of heating, ventilating, and central air conditioning, plumbing, mechanical, and related utility systems in Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority buildings and facilities. Performs highly skilled gas fitter duties related to the installation, service and repair of residential and non-residential gas appliances and any other gas utilization equipment.

Performs work involving heavy lifting, climbing of ladders, and using staging; performs related work as required. May serve as lead person in the performance of duties, provide instruction, and oversee work being performed by others. This involves ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and co-workers. The Senior Building Mechanical Technicial/Gas Fitter/HVAC Technician will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner and perform related work as required.

This is a full-time position; Monday – Friday, 7am-3:30pm with a half-hour lunch and two paid 15 minute breaks.

Building Maintenance Technician

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is hiring Building Maintenance Technicians. This position requires, under limited supervision, and to the extent permitted by licensing status, performance of highly skilled work related to corrective and preventive maintenance, repairs and restorations of heating, ventilating, central air conditioning, plumbing, mechanical and related utility systems in Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority buildings and facilities.

Our ideal employee will be able to work independently and with a team while maintaining public housing units, buildings, grounds and offices to safe, decent and sanitary conditions and in accordance with state and federal laws. A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, or technical school or apprenticeship supplemented by four years of experience in mechanical, building or plumbing trades as related to plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning fields, or an equivalent combination of education and training.

This is a full-time, 40-hour position. A valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance is required.

Resident Services Coordinator

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is hiring a Resident Services Coordinator. This candidate will be working directly with MHRA’s tenant population, including elderly and adults with disabilities, to provide quality service coordination and support tenants with a variety of services.

Qualified candidates will have at least four years of related experience working with seniors, low-income families, and/or adults with disabilities. The ideal candidate should have comfortability with Excel and Word, as well as familiarity with local supportive services agencies. Must possess sensitivity to the needs of persons of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds and have the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with such individuals. Must be SERV Safe certified or have the ability to obtain within one year of employment. Candidates must have the ability to work under pressure. Must be able to work independently and maintain professional boundaries.

This is a full-time, 35-hour work week, non-exempt position.

Property Manager - New!

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is hiring a Full-Time Property Manager.

This person will have five years of equivalent related field work.

Five years’ property management experience. Knowledge of HUD regulations including fair housing, property management, housing assistance, tenant/landlord law. Demonstrated successful experience with budget development and management, supervisory experience, analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Sensitive to the needs of persons of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds. Must maintain valid Driver’s License and proof of personal automobile insurance. Ability to properly handle sensitive, confidential information. Public Housing Manager (PHM) certification or ability to obtain within one year.

This is a full-time, 35-hour work week position with work hours being Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm.
Occasional work events outside of the above hours may be required.

Plumber/Gas Fitter

This person will perform skilled work related to replacement, corrective, preventive maintenance, repairs, restorations, and installation of mechanical equipment, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and related systems.

Our ideal candidate will have four years of practical experience in the mechanical and plumbing profession related to plumbing and HVAC. Also, the candidate must possess a valid State of New Hampshire Master Plumbing License and State of New Hampshire Fuel Gas Fitters License with STN/STP endorsement.

This is a full-time, 40-hour work week position.  A Valid Driver’s License is Required.

Family Services Coordinator

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is hiring a Part-Time Family Services Coordinator. This person will have a four-year degree in human services, sociology, criminal justice, education, social work, or five to seven years of equivalent related field work.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working with special needs populations including those with high-risk behaviors and/or substance abuse issues. Demonstrated abilities in program development and delivery. Assess and address the problems and concerns of low-income youth and families. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be encouraging, supportive and enthusiastic in his/her work. Sensitivity to the needs of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Experience in community relations, dealing with human service and governmental agencies, and/or grant funded program delivery. Knowledge of child development, family issues, adult and juvenile court system and public housing.

This is a part-time, 20-hour work week position with work hours being Monday-Thursday, 12:30pm-5:30pm.

Property Management Specialist

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is hiring a Property Management Specialist to perform daily department operations for assigned Public Housing developments. This specialist will process and screen applicants for eligibility, compute rent recertifications in accordance with HUD and MHRA regulations, including all annual and interim rent changes.  Additional tasks include communicating Authority policies, services, and requirements, including lease enforcement, safety, etc., as well as assisting the Assistant Property Manager with various functions.

Our ideal candidate will possess three years’ experience in customer service and/or office management. Property management experience is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Interested applicants should possess strong multitasking skills and be sensitive to the needs of persons with diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Being bilingual is preferred, but not required.

Housekeeper/Cook Aide

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is hiring a Housekeeper/Cook Aide for our Resident Services Department. The ideal candidate will prepare and serve balanced meals to participants in the Supportive Services Program (SSP) according to federal, state, and local standards. The candidate will be responsible for following dietary and allergen restrictions. This position will also clean, including but not limited to, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, and performing any necessary light housekeeping tasks in the assigned individual dwelling units. This position requires a commitment to keeping high standards of cleanliness, organization, food safety, and customer service. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential. This role greatly improves the quality of life for residents by maintaining the highest standards and consistency.

Our ideal candidate will have two years’ experience as a housekeeper and/or a cook within a commercial setting with food safety knowledge. Must have the ability to interact with the elderly and persons with disabilities in a compassionate, diplomatic, positive, and helpful manner. Experience with food preparation, kitchen/dining room operations, and general housekeeping tasks necessary. Must be able to work independently and maintain professional boundaries. Must maintain sensitivity to the needs of persons of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds and have the ability to work under pressure.

This is a full-time, 35-hour work week, position.
